Snowbird!

We drove up to Alta and the Albion Basin where the fall leaves were spectacular!
Stanford recalled fun times as a Scout when they would jump off this rock into the lake!
We hiked into Secret Lake on our own trail, not discovering the official trail until we came back down! It was a cool, overcast, crisp fall day, quiet, peaceful, a great day to be in the mountains!
Between rainstorms we explored Snowbird, and hiked the half mile paved trail to this overlook.

29 years ago Stanford and I stayed at the Iron Blosam Lodge (in the background) on our honeymoon, and have never taken the time to return for a visit. So this year when his coworker offered us the use of his timeshare, we decided it was time.....and were glad we did! We stayed there four nights, and let our kids take a night if they could. Amanda & Chase, and Seth & Julie each took advantage for a quick one night getaway. We all came away with renewed spirits!

the happenings

This entry will probably just be an update on some of the random happenings that have kept us happy, busy, and a little crazy over the past few months!
Stanford moving the cows. This turned out to be quite a project, but we finally got them seperated, and sold! We kept a few beef cows to butcher later this fall!

We've kept ourselves busy this fall with a full, blooming garden that has had quite a bounty!! Melanee and Amanda enjoyed spending time together freezing some garden grown corn! We've also had Jaime, Julie, Seth, and many of the kids helping can peaches, tomatos etc.
Marissa and Anne on their first day of school!! Marissa's last first day of high school, and anne's first first day of high school!!! They are such darling girls! They both were in the welcoming assembly at school, anne in her dance company, and marissa in student council.
Marissa's senior homecoming! She had a great time with her date, hiking to timp caves earlier that morning, and then getting dolled up and going to the mayan for dinner, and then the dance.
Stanford and Melanee!! What a good looking couple!

Our Aerom boy turned 3!!! he is such a darling boy and is really quite the comedian and charmer. I can't believe he is already 3! His main present this year was a train set, which he loves!

A favorite past time over conference weekend was Marissa driving around on the 4-wheeler while talia, and Aerom searched for golf balls in the field. It was just like an easter egg hunt! Avenlea of course was just along for the ride .

One sunday this fall, we took a drive up around nebo loop. We stopped at the devils kitchen for a nice picnic. The fall colors were just changing and were beautiful! I love this time of year!

Stephen is doing amazing in Brazil. He no longer is in the office, but out tracking again and having wonderful experiences!
Well, there's so much more to report, but as you can see, our family is so blessed!
